A note from Rod.
My name is Rodway Heathfield. I am born and bred in Herefordshire, and have grown up wih a passion for anything to do with the countryside; with horses being my hobby and work.
I started riding and then competing in the Pony Club. When I left school I began my farrier apprenticeship. Whilst working in racing yards my interest grew in racing and I started riding in point-to-points, where I had several rides under rules. In later years I have gone on to eventing and most riding club activities.
A qualified farrier since 1987, when I set up my own business around Herefordshire, shoeing a variety of horses and ponies. I am a founder member of the Hereford Farriers Club which, as well as running social events, also promotes training and lectures within the organisation.
